this is just a cheap version of a pompadour -_- not authentic
If you have shorter hair you should still be able to recreate this look as your only working with a small section on the crown. And yes you can definitely wear your hair up with this look! I do it all the time!
I love your hairstyle! I was wondering if you could do this with shorter hair. And if you could put your hair up like would it work in a ponytail or pig tails and such?

If you have shorter bangs, like I do right now, then you will probably have to apply your hairspray before you twirl it, and then make your roll smaller. This is what I do.
